If you consider that she was familiar with songs about broken hearts and fraud , one wonders what Lucinda Williams now inspired to find out she has found true love. For her tenth album, it has stretched out the feelers in all directions. "Buttercup" adopted a lover with the typical disdain for them, but "Blessed" among the strands of happiness. "Soldier's Song" feels compassion for an army far from home, while "Seeing Red" deals extensively with the mind of a friend who committed suicide (they are here for the late songwriter Vic Chesnutt ) . Elvis Costello belongs to those who contribute their share to the guitar-based pieces, but the outstanding numbers are the tender "Copenhagen" and the melancholy "Kiss Like Your Kiss." Their reflective quality is underlined by Williams' tortured vocals perfectly.
